UpTo 2024 the number of the children raised to 127 needy children
As Guru Sahib commands that
ਵਿਦਿਆ ਵਿਚਾਰੀ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ
A truly literate person can be helpful for mankind or society.
But sometimes less fortunate children not able to get their basic right of education.
After having command and blessings from Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji, Mukh Sewadar of Shri Gurudwara sahib S. Mohinder Bir Singh sachdeva, took a decision that langar should not be meant only with food. We can do langar of study as well for the less fortunate ones from local society of freetown.
The program named, Baba Nanak scholarship was started in September 2022 , with 60 children only.
And these numbers were raised UpTo 150 till 2024 .
Management agrees that these young children are the future of the country and also some of them are so unfortunate that they want to study but cannot afford to continue it.
The program was supported by management and other community members to cover all over the expense of each child .
After checking the Marksheet and enquiring the details of each child who register for the scholarship, the child was considered if eligible or not for scholarship funds.
The fees of each eligible child with good marks one is directly transfer to the bank account of school.
Each child was sponsored by Shri Gurudwara sahib including with full year academic fees, set of stationary of each item, a backpack with lunch box and water bottle and set of 1 dozen of notebooks.
This program not only helping the children to achieve their dreams but also giving hope to the parents to see the brighter future of their kids.
By the grace of Guru sahib and the support of each sponsor or supporter, looking forward to continuing this scholarship program till we can do our Best.
